UMBC THEATRE, Baltimore, MD Admission: BDP returns to the UMBC Theatre with a mix of heart-warming, mind-bending, vigorous, inventive, creepy, and entertaining dance, featuring choreography by artistic directors Doug Hamby and Carol Hess, and performances by award-winning dancers Sandra Lacy, Adrienne Clancy, and a crew of 8 outstanding dancers.
Hamby works: --Nacht, in which three women explore the confines of a surreal nightmare. --New Work* with an original score by Ferdinand Maisel. Hess works: --Private Property, an edgy dance about personal space and voyeurism, featuring dancer Michelle Brandenburg and camera artist/filmmaker Rolando Vargas interacting with live, real-time large scale video. --Against the Tide*, a dance for seven women traversing the slippery slope of inclusion and exclusion Also featured: --Where Were You?, choreographed and performed by Adrienne Clancy and Sandra Lacy (a Maryland 2010 Choreographers Showcase selection) --Revisited*, a virtuosic solo choreographed and performed by Sandra Lacy |
